Here’s the official synopsis: “ When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store on Halloween night. This is the feature directorial debut of David Poag, from a screenplay by Billie Bates. There aren’t any betrayals, the world isn’t particularly deep, and you never even the learn the names of the various ruined cities you stumble upon. There aren’t really any complicated twists or turns. You’re a fox, led by a spirit fox, searching for a way to purify the land from the plague that destroyed its people. Marla Gibbs ( The Jeffersons, 227, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie”) also stars in the film. The story for Spirit of the North is pretty simple.
