Or, you can use other features of the Z-Wave system to control them automatically based on time of day, sunlight etc. Once installed they operate as part of your Z-Wave smart home automation system allowing you to control them wirelessly from wherever you are. These modules are very similar to a Z-Wave Switch Module, as they have physical electrical contacts (switches), but they also incorporate additional features that make them ideal for controlling blinds, shutters, curtains and awnings. They allow the module to be calibrated so that it knows the position of the blind or shutter - if it is open, closed, 50% open etc, allowing you to have the blinds open/close to preset positions. Z-Wave Blind and Curtain controllers are Z-Wave Modules that have been specifically designed to control blinds and shutters.
